One of the key features of the AVRO Pump is its ultra-lightweight design. Weighing in at only 2.4 pounds (1.1 kg), it is made of polymers, composites, and a lithium battery pack, making it the most compact automated portable pump on the market. In comparison, the WMFG 4.0 Tall Pump weighs 2.2 pounds without hoses and adapters.

The AVRO Pump is also incredibly compact, measuring 3 times smaller than a manual tall pump and 4 times smaller than the WMFG 2.0 Double Pump. This makes it easy to pack and take with you on the go.

The pump also includes valve adapter fittings for all kite brands, including Airush, Cabrinha, Core, Duotone, Eleveight, F-One, Naish, North, Ocean Rodeo, Ozone, and Reedin. We also tested the pump with the optional kite pump hose. CORE users need an adapter (the hose will not directly fit into the valve). No adapter needed for Cabrinha (Airlock 2 Valves), North kites (2020 onwards), Slingshot kites (2015 onward). This means that you can pump up all your inflatables with the AVRO pump, including foil or SUP boards, mattresses, kayaks, we even used it to top up our Zodiac inflatable boat!

The AVRO Pump includes auto-stop technology, which accurately shuts off the pump once the selected pressure is reached. The pressure levels provided by the AVRO Pump range from 0 to 16 PSI, providing a broad range of applications. Occasionally we didn’t completely seal the hose attachment to our kite, the small leak would prevent the pump from reaching the desired pressure, and we need to seal the leak with a quick twist before full press was reached about a minute later.

The AVRO Pump also comes with a fast USB Type-C charging port, allowing you to fully recharge the battery in 3 hours from an electrical outlet. The LED battery level indicator will show the current battery level, and the all-day lithium ion battery will inflate a 10m kite more than 15 times on a single charge. We forgot to charge the battery after a couple weeks of solid use, Charging a dead battery in the car on the way to the beach 45 minutes away doesn’t provide enough charge for a kite. Charge it the night before at home.

What we didn’t like: A little loud if you are setting up next to your sunbathing spouse.
